Dr. Kavita Rao is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who has been serving patients in Orange County since 2016.
Education and Training
Dr. Rao completed her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley and then went on to earn a masters and her medical degree from Chicago Medical School. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. After graduation, Dr. Rao worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center for a few years before returning with her family to California. Dr. Rao then worked as an associate clinical professor of Ophthalmology at UC Irvine before making the transition to private practice with Advanced Eye Medical Group in Mission Viejo.
Personal Life and Interests
Dr. Rao is a native of Southern California. Dr. Rao lives in Irvine with her husband who is also a physician, her two boys, and a golden doodle. She enjoys family time, cooking, fitness, and is an avid skier.
